El musical “On Your Feet! The Story of Emilio & Gloria Estefan” tiene su historia en los teatros de Estados Unidos, incluido Broadway, donde estrenó en el 2015, pero la puesta en la escena local, con Denise Quiñones y Eddie Noel Rodríguez como protagonistas, debe ser, sin duda, una de las mejores representaciones sobre la vida y obra del famoso binomio.

A partir del próximo 9 de septiembre eso será lo que experimentarán los puertorriqueños Eddie Noel Rodríguez y Luis Salgado cuando estrene en la isla el musical “On Your Feet!”, basado en la vida basado en la vida de los artistas y esposos cubanos Emilio y Gloria Estefan.
Salgado, a member of the original Broadway cast of “In the Heights” and director/choreographer of its 2017 U.S. Spanish premiere, elicits wonderful musical performances from his electrifying cast.
Gaby Albo and Samuel Garnica are set to star in the national touring production of Gloria and Emilio Estefan’s On Your Feet! Directed and choreographed by Luis Salgado, the tour will visit more than 70 cities with a press premiere to be held at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts in West Palm Beach on November 15.
In the Heights is one of the best productions ever at Stages St. Louis, if not the best. Every facet of this brilliant staging deserves superlatives. Director-choreographer Luis Salgado draws wonderful performances from the entire cast, capturing the style and spirit of Washington Heights with compelling authenticity. Luis Salgado‘s directorial vision and choreography was a perfect homage to the original Broadway production. The emotional connection his direction brings links the audience to the actors and the stories they are telling.
There’s a great ensemble here, as well, with lots of energy, enthusiasm, and strong dance skills in the production numbers, dynamically choreographed by director Luis Salgado.
Salgado, nacido en Puerto Rico, se inició en la industria de las artes a los 9 años. Con sueños de crear un espectáculo de Broadway, encontró el coraje para emprender el viaje a los Estados Unidos y aterrizó en Nueva York. Su primer espectáculo le permitió formar parte del elenco original de Broadway de In the Heights con el ganador del premio Tony Lin-Manuel Miranda.
“Let’s Dance!”, directed and choreographed by Luis Salgado, offers up some of Broadway’s greatest dance showstoppers mixed with Latin culture for a unique, high energy show with lots of surprises along the way. “Let’s Dance!” features numbers from 42nd Street, Wicked, Guys and Dolls, and more.
