“I have attended almost every concert of foreign artists coming here and I think Peru has never seen anything as wonderful as this. In the hands of a young talented director Luis Salgado, with his Broadway influence the great Cecilia Bracamonte had a WONDERFUL show” – Ernesto Reyes
Salgado, who has worked on some of the most successful Broadway shows in the last years – as Latin assistant choreographer of the Tony Award-winning musical In the Heights, and cast member of Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, is thrilled about the accomplishments of artist Bracamonte, the musicians lead by Ernesto Hermoza and the 20 young dancers who brought this vision to life.
What can I say? We must follow our heart and pursue our dreams. I came with nothing to NYC and now I get to travel the world simply doing what I love. It”s a huge honor and a big responsibility says Luis Salgado.
Producer Carlos Arana said: “Congratulations Luis Salgado. You really know how to put on a show. I had a very good time and was impressed by the quality of everything. From the moment I walked into the theatre to the end. You must be very proud. .”
The Salgado Production team included Joel E. Silver as Lighting Designer, Heather Hogan as Production Stage Manager, Juan Pablo Lostannou and Luis Antonio Vilchelz as associate choreographers with Salgado at the helm of the artistic development as director, choreographer and conceiver of the night. The concert was co-produced by Pura Vibra Producciones and Salgado Productions.
“No one is a prophet in their own land. I dream of doing these kinds of projects with artists from Puerto Rico like , Lucecita Benitez and more but Peru is a home to me and has given me the chance to create new art. I am grateful and honored to do what I love and create with what I learn for the good of my people anywhere and any time”. Said the young Director/Choreographer who is leaving a mark in Latin America. -Ednita Nazario
